FORT LAUDERDALE — A Broward County woman is suing a motorist and insurer, alleging breach of contract and negligence in a vehicle crash.
Wanita Lott filed a complaint March 20 in Broward Circuit Court against Lynne Robertson and Progressive Select Insurance Company, alleging failure to exercise standard care and skill in the operation of a vehicle.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 15, 2016, Lott was driving her 2009 Nissan Altima on North state Road 7 and Bailey Road in North Lauderdale. The suit says Robertson, driving a 2010 Chrysler, collided with Lott's vehicle.
Lott says she sustained bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, impairment, disability, inconvenience, aggravation of a preexisting condition, mental anguish, loss of earnings and incurred medical expenses as a result of Robertson's negligence.
The plaintiff alleges Progressive Select Insurance failed to carry sufficient vehicle liability insurance coverage to satisfy damages to Lott, and that Robertson failed to keep proper lookout and failed to maintain adequate distance.
Lott seeks trial by jury compensatory damages of more than $15,000, plus interest, costs and all relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorney Douglas E. Ede of Feingold & Posner PA in Davie.
