Insurance 05

ORLANDO — An Orlando homeowner is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of an insurance contract.

Jun Liu filed a complaint March 14 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Integrity Insurance Company of Florida Inc., alleging the defendant failed to provide insurance for water damage as required in the policy.

According to the complaint, in September 2017, Liu's insured property at 10114 Hart Branch Circle, Orlando, suffered extensive water damage as a result of a sudden and accidental direct physical loss. Liu says he promptly notified American Integrity and provided access to the insured property but the insurance company has denied the claim.

The plaintiff alleges American Integrity Insurance of Florida has failed, refused and continues to to fully pay the claim.

Liu seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages of more than $15,000, interest, court costs and reasonable attorney fees. He is represented by attorney Derek L. Metts of Metts Legal, PA in Winter Park.
