ORLANDO — A Sarasota County man is suing Seaworld, alleging negligence led to a serious leg injury for the plaintiff.

Ronald D. Mannarino filed a complaint March 14 in Orange County Circuit Court against Seaworld Parks and Entertainment LLC, alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on March 22, 2015, Mannarino went to Seaworld's "Journey to Atlantis, to enjoy its attractions, when his left leg was crushed by a defective hydraulic turnstile gate. The suit says this resulted in injuries in and about the plaintiff's body and extremities, producing pain and suffering, loss of wages and incurring medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Seaworld Parks and Entertainment failed to adequately maintain the gate leading into the loading area of one of its attractions and failed to adequately warn Mannarino of the dangerous condition of the gate.

Mannarino seeks trial by jury, in excess of $15,000, exclusive of interest, costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorney David G. Blake of Morgan & Morgan in Sarasota.
