Visitor blames Pinellas Park property owner for parking lot injuries

CLEARWATER — A Pasco County woman is suing a Pinellas Park commercial property owner, alleging negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Doreen Hamlyn filed a complaint March 13 in Pinellas Circuit Court against JKVW Inc. alleging the Pinellas Park commercial property owner, alleging failure to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 17, 2014, Hamlyn was exiting from a car parked at 1211 49th St. N., Pinellas Park. The suit says Hamlyn fell when she tripped over a displaced wheel block that had been left laying parallel to the plaintiff's vehicle. 

Hamlyn says she sustained great physical pain and mental anguish, incurred medical expenses and the inability to perform daily activities. 

The plaintiff alleges JKVW Inc. failed to warn her of the dangerous condition on the premises, and failed to properly inspect and maintain a safe premises.

Hamlyn seeks trial by jury, monetary damages of more than $15,000, including court costs, and all other relief the court deems appropriate. She is represented by attorney David A. Papa of Papa & Gipe PA in Clearwater.
