Slip01

CLEARWATER — A customer is suing a Clearwater food market, alleging negligence caused her to fall and suffer injuries.

Charlie Hinson filed a complaint March 13 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Shop & Save Food Inc. alleging failure to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 20, 2016, Hinson was shopping at Shop & Save Food, 1427 N. Betty Lane, Clearwater, when he slipped and fell due to liquid on the store's floor. The suit says Hinson sustained bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, medical expenses and aggravation of a previous existing condition.

Hinson says the defendant allowed liquid to accumulate and remain on the store's floor. The plaintiff alleges Shop & Save Food  failed to adequately inspect and maintain the premises and failed to warn Hinson of the dangerous condition.

Hinson seeks trial by jury and damages in excess of $15,000. He is represented by attorney Juan Asconape of Schwed, Adams, Sobel, & McGinIey PA in Palm Beach Gardens.
