Motorist blames another driver for crash

CLEARWATER — A motorist is is suing another driver, alleging his negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Teresa Ann Cook filed a complaint March 13 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Stephen Eckelbarger III, alleging he failed to exercise standard care and skill in operating a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on March 7, 2017, Cook was driving her 2010 Chevy Camaro westbound on 38th Avenue North in St. Petersburg. The suit says a 2015 Toyota Tacoma negligently driven by Eckelbarger collided with Cook's car.

Cook says she sustained bodily injuries with resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of earnings.  

The plaintiff alleges Eckelbarger failed to adequately maintain and operate a motor vehicle and failed to be on a proper lookout for other vehicles.

Cook seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus courts costs and fees. She is represented by attorney John L. Mulvihill of Corless Barfield Trial Group LLC in Tampa.
