FORT LAUDERDALE — A guest is suing Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, alleging premises liability for injuries suffered in the resort's gym.
Matthew Aliperti filed a complaint March 9 in Broward Circuit Court against Breakers of Ft. Lauderdale Condominium Association Inc, doing business as. Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, alleging failure to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 14, Aliperti was working out at the resort's gym when the flat weight bench collapsed and caused him to fall straight down onto the metal crossbar. The suit says Aliperti severely injured his tailbone and lower back, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of earnings, and aggravation of a previous existing condition.
The plaintiff alleges Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort failed to have a proper maintenance and inspection plan, and failed to warn Aliperti of the hazardous condition.
Aliperti seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, including interest, costs of action, and all further relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Dallas A. Robinson of Robinson Trial Lawyers PA in Pembroke Pines.
