Worker accuses former employer of age discrimination

CLEARWATER — A Florida man is suing her former employer, alleging age discrimination, hostile work environment and wrongful termination.

Surendra Parvataneni, 56, filed a complaint Feb. 26 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Agora Sales Inc., alleging violation of the Florida Civil Rights Act. 

According to the complaint, Parvataneni, had worked for Agora for 23 years. The suit says he was harassed, discriminated against, and subjected to disparaging remarks based directly upon his age and terminated June 12, 2017.  

The plaintiff alleges Agora Sales subjected him to a hostile work environment, and unlawfully terminated Parvataneni based on age without prior notice or warning.

Parvataneni seeks trial by jury, back pay, front pay, compensatory damages of more than $15,000, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney W. John Gadd of Clearwater.
