ORLANDO — An Orlando resort is suing a guest, alleging battery against one of the resort's employees.

Westgate Resorts LTD filed a complaint Feb. 26 in Orange County Circuit Court against Laura Chapman, alleging she pushed or shoved an employee, causing him to fall and sustain injuries.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 12, 2016, at the Wesgate Resorts in Orlando, employee Fernando Pineda-Prieto delivered items to Chapman's room. The suit says Chapman pushed Pineda-Prieto, causing him to fall and sustain injuries.

Westgate says its agents and representative have paid of Pineda-Prieto's ongoing medical bills and damages. The plaintiff alleges Chapman assaulted a Westgate employee without reason, causing him to sustain serious injuries.

Westgate Resorts seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, attorney fees, taxable costs, interest, and all other just and appropriate relief. It is represented by attorneys Art C. Young and Aaron E. Eagan of Rissman, Barrett, Hurt, Donahue & McLain PA in Orlando.
