CLEARWATER — A residential tenant is suing the owners of a St. Petersburg apartment building, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Renee Cable filed a complaint Feb. 20 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Gateway Multifamily LLC, Gateway on 4th Apartments LLC and Robbins Property Associates LLC, alleging failure to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 22, 2014, Cable was injured at Gateway on 4th Apartments, 501 116th Ave. N., St. Petersbrug, when an apartment stairway crumbled, causing the plaintiff to fall down defective concrete stairs

The suit says Cable sustained pain, incurred medical expenses, and suffered physical handicap and limitations as a result of the defendants' negligence in the maintenance of the stairway.  The alleges the defendants failed to conduct reasonable and periodic inspections of the concrete stairs, and failed to conduct proper repairs to the unsafe stairs.

Cable seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus all other relief the court deems necessary and proper, including legal fees and costs. She is represented by attorney Mark Tischhauser of The Tischhauser Law Group in Tampa.
