Couple blames Longhorn Steakhouse for wife's injuries

Slip02

ORLANDO — A couple is suing an Orlando steakhouse restaurant, alleging negligence led to injuries for the wife.

Judy Evette Dunning and Bobby Dunning filed a complaint Feb. 16 in Orange County Circuit Court against Rare Hospitality Management LLC, doing business as Longhorn Steakhouse, alleging failure to have the restaurant in a reasonably safe condition for invitees and potential customers.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 6, 2016, while lawfully in the Longhorn Steakhouse, 8181 International Driver, Orlando, Judy Dunning slipped and fell as a result of rainwater on the floor. She says the floor remained in a slippery hazardous, and unsafe condition, and the defendant did not warn patrons of the hazardous condition.

As a result, the suit says Dunning suffered pain, permanent bodily injuries, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life and expenses for medical treatment. Bobby Dunning alleges loss of consortium.

The plaintiffs allege Longhorn Steakhouse failed to exercise reasonable care and should have known that the condition of the floor was dangerous. The suit says the hazard should have been corrected or Longhorn Steakhouse should have warned customers of its existence.

The Dunnings seek trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, court costs, attorney fees and all other relief the court deems just and proper. They are represented by attorney R. Bruce Warren of Whitehurst, Blackburn & Warren in Thomasville, Georgia.
