Customer blames Publix for injuries

Slip01

ORLANDO — An Orange County woman is suing Publix, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Debra Loeb filed a complaint Feb. 16 in Orange County Circuit Court against Publix Super Markets, Inc. alleging the retail/grocery store failed to exercise reasonable care for the safety of consumers.

According to the complaint, on May 1, 2017, Loeb visited the Publix at 7800 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Windermere. The suit says Loeb slipped in a liquid substance on the floor while shopping in the meat department.

As a result, Loeb says she suffered bodily injuries and disability, plus the expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment. The plaintiff alleges Publix Super Markets failed to maintain the premises/flooring and the refrigerated bunkers in the meat department, thus creating a slip hazard to members of the public utilizing the store.

Loeb seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest and costs. She is represented by attorney Varun Ramnarine of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
