ORLANDO — A mother and her daughter are suing the NBC Universal theme park, alleging negligence led to injuries to the daughter.

Isadora Cunha Filgueiras, by and through Natale de Cuhna Filgueiras, as her mother and natural guardian, filed a complaint Feb. 15 in Orange County Circuit Court against NBC Universal Media LLC, doing business as NBC Universal, Inc. alleging the defendant failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 1, 2017, Isadora Cunha Filgueiras was at NBC Universal's Dead Waters Haunted House in Orlando. The suit says Filgueiras suffered severe personal injuries when one of defendant's employees made physical contact with her face, fracturing her nose.

As a result, Filgueiras says she has suffered disability, disfigurement, inability to lead a normal life and the expense of hospitalization, medical, nursing care and treatment.

The plaintiffs allege NBC Universal failed to adequately supervise, instruct, manage and/or control its employees/agents at the premises to prevent physical contact between employees and guests and failed to protect invitees from unwanted physical contact during all hours of operation.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus statutory interest, prejudgment interest, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by attorney Robert C. Solomon of Law Office of Saban & Solomon in Plantation.
