ORLANDO — A home restoration service business is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Speed Dry Inc., as assignee of Myrna Colon, filed a complaint Feb. 15 in Orange County Circuit Court against Security First Insurance Company, alleging the defendant failed to provide insurance coverage.

According to the complaint, on June 30, 2017, Speed Dryprovided water extraction and restoration services to Colon's property, 1140 S. Orlando Ave., A-3, Orlando after it suffered a water loss. However, Speed Dry says despite filing all necessary forms and performing all conditions precedent to recovering under the policy, Security First refuses to give payment, constituting a breach of the policy.

The plaintiff alleges Security First Insurance has failed and refused to pay the claim of $16,441.46 despite receiving all needed requirements.

Speed Dry seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus interest, court costs and attorney fees. It is represented by attorney David R. Heil of Winter Park.
