Motorist accuses insurance carrier of failing to pay for crash injuries

Car accident 21

ORLANDO — An Orange County motorist is suing an insurance carrier, alleging breach of contract.

Ronnie Fedrick filed a complaint Feb. 15 in Orange County Circuit Court against the United Services Automobile Association, alleging failure to pay for injuries suffered in a vehicle crash.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 23, 2016, Fedrick was driving on Pine Hills Road in Orlando. The suit says his vehicle was run into by a car driven by Aaron Kemuel Way, leading to Fedrick sustaining bodily injury, pain and suffering of both a physical and mental nature, disability, mental anguish and inconvenience.

The suit says Way was negligently operating a vehicle while under-insured. Additionally, Fedrick says he was further damaged by United Services' refusal to provide coverage and pay the full value of the plaintiff's claim.

The plaintiff alleges United Services Automobile Association has denied that coverage exists and/or refused to pay Fedrick the full value of the claim.

Fedrick seeks trial by jury, damages that exceed $15,000, exclusive of interest, court costs and attorney fees, plus all other relief deemed proper by the court. He is represented by attorney Joseph H. Shaughnessy of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
