Mother blames motorist for crash that injured her daughter

Car accident 36

CLEARWATER — A minor child, through her mother, is suing a vehicle driver, alleging negligent driving caused injuries to the child.

Brooke Iris Kulick, a minor, by and through her parent and natural guardian, Maria Kulick, filed a complaint Feb. 7 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Steven Michael Powers, alleging the defendant negligently owned and operated a motor vehicle that collided with another vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 10, 2017, Brooke Iris Kulick was driving a car owned by Maria Kulick in Pinellas County. The suit says the minor suffered bodily injuries and disfigurement when her vehicle was struck by a car driven by Powers.  As a result, Maria Kulick sustained the expense of hospitalization for her child and lost the use of the vehicle.

The plaintiffs allege Powers failed to take proper care while operating his vehicle, resulting in a collision and injury to another motorist.

The Kulicks seek trial by jury and damages that exceed $15,000. They are represented by attorneys Patrick W. Harland Jr. of The Law Firm of Patrick W. Harland Jr. LLC in St. Petersburg by John Davis Fernandez of St. Petersburg .
