ORLANDO — A customer is suing an Orlando car dealership, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.
Lynette Starkey filed a complaint Feb. 8 in Orange County Circuit Court against Off Lease Only Inc., alleging failure to provide a safe environment for its business invitees.
According to the complaint, on May 22, 2016, Starkey was at the property 7948 Narcoossee Road, Orlando, to look at cars. The suit said she was offered a ride in a golf cart to one of the far-off car lots. The lawsuit states an Off Lease Only employee excessively accelerated the golf cart, causing Starkey to fall forcefully to the ground.
The suit says Starkey sustained injuries in and about her body and extremities, pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, scarring, mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earnings and aggravation of previous existing conditions.
The plaintiff alleges Off Lease Only failed to train its employees on the safe operation of golf carts, failed to adequately warn Starkey of the risks and failed to equip its golf carts with seat belts or other restraining devices.
Starkey seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest and court costs. She is represented by attorneys Jason P. Herman and Jason Grundorf of Dan Newlin & Partners in Orlando.
