ORLANDO — A customer is suing a Circle K convenient store, alleging it made a walkway unsafe for customers.

Mabel Dozier filed a complaint Feb. 1 in Orange County Circuit Court against Circle K Stores Inc., doing business as Circle K, alleging failure to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on May 28, 2016, Dozier was visiting a Circle K gas station and convenience store at 14990 Colonial Drive, Winter Park. Dozer says she tripped on bolts protruding up from the walkway and fell, sustaining injuries. As a result, Dozier says she suffered physical impairment, mental anguish, inconvenience and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Circle K failed to adequately maintain the main walkway in front of the store by allowing bolts to protrude from the asphalt, thus creating a hazardous condition to business invitees utilizing the walkway.

Dozier seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest, court costs and attorney fees. He is represented by attorney William Corzo of Normand PLLC in Orlando.
