ORLANDO — An Orlando property owner is suing State Farm, alleging breach of contract.
Reinalda Gordon filed a complaint Feb. 1 in Orange County Circuit Court against State Farm Florida Insurance Company, alleging the insurer failed to pay for hurricane damage.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 10, 2017, Gordon notified State Farm of damages to her property, 1830 Carden Court, Orlando, from Hurricane Irma. The suit says Gordon has complied with all conditions precedent to entitle her to recover damages under the policy. But Gordon says despite having a full force and effect insurance policy, she has failed to receive coverage.
The plaintiff alleges State Farm Florida Insurance has failed and refuses to fully perform under the policy and has failed to fully pay for all of the losses as required by the insurance policy.
Gordon seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus interest on any overdue payments, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by attorney Nathan E. Wittman of Morgan & Moran, PA in Orlando.
