Customer accuses construction company of fraud

Contract 09

CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County man is suing a construction company, alleging fraud.

Carroll Gorrell filed a complaint Jan. 29 in the Pinellas Circuit Court against Triad Construction & Management Service LLC, alleging failure to perform all work required under the contract.

According to the complaint, on April 20, 2017, Gorrell entered into a construction contract with Triad under which the defendant agreed to construct a new garage as an addition to the plaintiff's resident in Pinellas County.

Gorrell says despite performing all obligations agreed in the contract, he does not have a garage that works in accordance with the contract. As a result, Gorrell alleges he has incurred more than $29,000 in damages as a direct result of non-completed work.

The plaintiff alleges Triad Construction & Management failed to construct the work in accordance with the contract, overcharged the client, refused to refund the amounts overcharged and failed to perform all work required under the contract.

Gorrell seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, costs, attorney fees and all other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by attorneys George E. Spofford and William F. McFeldrige of GrayRobinson PA in Tampa.
