Customer blames Costco store for injuries

Slip02

ORLANDO — An Orange County woman is suing Costco, alleging negligence caused her to fall and sustain injuries.

Allin Escobar filed a complaint Jan. 25 in Orange County Circuit Court against Costco Wholesale Corporation, alleging the Orlando store owner failed to provide a safe environment for business invitees.

According to the complaint, on June 13, 2017, Escobar was lawfully on the Costco premises, 4200 Conroy Road, Orlando, as a business invitee. The suit says Escobar slipped and fell on an unknown clear liquid substance, which caused her to sustain bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, scarring, mental anguish and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges Costco Wholesale failed to maintain and inspect its premises for a dangerous condition and failed to adequately correct the dangerous condition.

Escobar seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, plus court costs, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Craig R. Lynd and Jeffrey S. Kaufman of Kaufman & Lynd PLLC in Orlando.
