Carol Roberson filed a complaint Jan. 23 in Orange County Circuit Court against Florida Mall Associates LTD, alleging the defendant failed to maintain and provide a reasonably safe premises for business invitees.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 5, 2016, Roberson was on the defendant's premises, 8001 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, when she suddenly tripped on a curb while walking toward Carvera Argentenian Grill.

As a result, Roberson says she fell violently to the ground, causing her to sustain physical and emotional injuries, loss of earnings and the expense of hospitalization.

The plaintiff alleges Florida Mall Associates failed to maintain, repair and warn of dangers regarding the sidewalk areas, which can create an unreasonable risk of harm to guests.

Roberson seeks trial by jury, judgment in excess of $15,000, plus costs of the proceedings. She is represented by attorneys Ted Starr and Aaron Binns of Starr Law Offices, PA in Pinellas Park.
