ORLANDO — An Orlando woman is suing Macy's, alleging negligence led to a serious foot injury.

Bernadina Ceballos Organ filed a complaint Jan. 16 in Orange County Circuit Court against Macy's Corporate Services Inc., alleging failure to to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 24, 2017, Organ was at the Macy's premises, 8001 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, , when her right foot was violently struck and cut open by a defective and extremely sharp door. As a result, Organ says, she sustained injuries about her body and extremities, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, aggravation of a preexisting condition, inconvenience and permanent injuries.

The plaintiff alleges Macy's Corporate Services failed to maintain the premises by allowing a dangerous condition to exist on the property, and failed to warn Organ of the existence of the dangerous condition.

Organ seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages of more than $15,000, interest, court costs and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Rafael O. Nunez and Megan Shaw of The Nunez Law Firm in Orlando.
