ORLANDO — A customer is suing a Lake Buena Vista coffee shop, alleging negligence in protecting invitees from any dangerous condition inside the premises.

Iris Breaux filed a complaint Jan. 8 in Orange County Circuit Court against T-Rex Café-Orlando Inc. alleging the defendant failed to use reasonable care to provide the public a reasonably safe place to dine.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 22, 2015, Breaux was lawfully in the T-Rex Cafe-Orlando in Lake Buena Vista dining with her family. The suit says a platter full of stacked dinner plates dropped onto her back and neck. As a result, Breaux says, she sustained physical injuries, disability and incurred medical expenses for treatment for her injuries.

The plaintiff alleges T-Rex Café-Orlando failed to warn customers in a sufficient manner so that Breaux could take actions to protect herself and failed to take proper safeguards in order to avoid harming guests by dropping objects upon her.

Breaux seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000 and court costs. She is represented by attorney M. James Jenkins of Law Office of M. James Jenkins, PA in Pensacola.
