Employee says he was wrongfully terminated by Law Offices of John L. Di Masi

Wrongful term 06

ORLANDO — A former employee is suing the  Law Offices of John L. Di Masi, P.A., alleging the firm violated the Florida Whistleblower Act.

Ralph Eachus filed a complaint on Jan. 5 in the Orange County Circuit Court alleging that the law firm terminated his employment he objected to the plaintiff's illegal activity.

According to the complaint, Eachus was a paralegal for the defendant from Aug. 28, 2017 to Oct. 6, 2017 when he was fired after a supervisor confronted him about not disclosing a previous arrest that had be expunged from his records. Despite explaining that the arrest had been expunged and he was legally not required to disclose it, Eachus claims his supervisor still fired him later that day.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly retaliated against the plaintiff by terminating his employment due to his objection to the illegal behavior.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury; and seeks judgment against the defendant for actual and compensatory damages, front pay, back pay, emotional distress damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Noah E. Storch of Richard Celler Legal, P.A. in Davie.
