CLEARWATER — A husband and wife are suing General Motors, alleging design defect, liability, negligence and product liability.

Steve Singh and Lauren Sheomber Singh filed a complaint Dec. 29 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against General Motors LLC, alleging the vehicle manufacturer failed to repair the defects found on the Yukon that the plaintiffs purchased in 2015.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 4, 2015, the Singhs purchased a GMC Yukon that was found to have several defects. However, the suit says, those defects were never corrected, causing the Singhs  to be unable to utilize the vehicle. The plaintiffs allege General Motors failed to repair their Yukon despite several attempts to fix the issue.

The Singhs seek trial by jury, diminution in value of the vehicle for repairs, incidental and consequential damages of at least $15,000, court costs and all further relief the court grants. They are represented by attorney Nicholas Lacina of Krohn & Moss Ltd. in Chicago.
