CLEARWATER — A workman is suing a Clearwater property owner, alleging the defendant's negligence caused the plaintiff to fall and suffer injuries.

Samuel Battles filed a complaint Dec. 28 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Hidden Oaks Investments LLC alleging failure to to keep the premises reasonably safe for the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 28, 2016, Battles was at 1700 N. McMullen Booth Road working on the exterior of the Hidden Oaks building. The suit says Battles fell and sustained serious and permanent physical injuries when the wooden decking failed while he was cleaning the windows.

The plaintiff alleges Hidden Oaks Investments failed to make sure the wooden decking was properly secure.

Battles seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, interest, liquidated damages and all further relief the court grants. He is represented by attorney Tony Griffith of Tanney, Griffith & Bresler PA in Clearwater.
