CLEARWATER — A Madeira Beach property buyer is suing a law firm, alleging fraud and negligent misrepresentation.

Mark P. Stopa, an attorney, filed a complaint Dec. 28 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Isaac Manzo and Manzo & Associates PA, alleging the law firm made false representations to the plaintiff that he would be paid $500,000 upon the closure of the Madeira Beach property.

According to the complaint, Stopa was financially damaged from not receiving the $500,000 that was promised to him for the purchase of 526 St. Johns Pass, Madeira Beach . The plaintiff alleges the defendants knew they had no intention of paying $500,000 to Stopa upon the closing of the property but still informed him that he would receive that amount.

Stopa seeks damages, court costs, special damages and any further relief the court grants. He is representing himself.
