Tarpon Springs property owner alleges insurer failed to pay for storm damage

Insurance 02

CLEARWATER — A Tarpon Springs resident is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.

Sunshine Allred filed a complaint Jan. 4 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Tower Hill Prime Insurance Company, alleging the insurer failed to cover storm damages.

According to the complaint, Allred has been financially damaged and continues to suffer damage and loss and incurred additional expenses, as a result of a storm-related event and ensuing water and mold losses to her property at 2827 Grey Oaks, Blfd., Tarpon Springs. The suit says the defendant has refused to provide coverage, despite Allred's timely notice of the loss.

The plaintiff alleges Tower Hill Prime Insurance breached the insurance contract by failing to provide full coverage under the insurance policy and failed to pay promptly the full amounts due.

Allred seeks trial by jury, damages of at least $15,000, actual and compensatory damages, pre-judgment interest, costs of action, attorney fees and all further relief the court deems appropriate. She is represented by attorneys Grant W. Krapf and Kyle B. Staggs of Krapf Legal PA in Dunedin.
