ORLANDO — An Orlando homeowner is suing an insurance company, alleging breach of contract.
Efrain Ramos filed a complaint Dec. 27 in Orange County Circuit Court against American Integrity Insurance Company, alleging failure to cover damages from a hurricane.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 11, 2017, Ramos' property at 2808 Camomile Drive, Orlando, that was under a homeowners insurance policy, sustained a covered loss due to Hurricane Irma. However, despite Ramos' efforts to comply with all post-loss obligations, American Integrity has yet to pay or deny the claim.
The plaintiff alleges American Integrity Insurance has refused and continues to refuse to pay the full amount of Ramos' claim, and forced him to retain legal services for the purposes of prosecution.
Ramos seeks trial by jury, damages of at least $15,000, including damage to the premises, its contents, loss of use, costs, interest, attorney fees and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Pearl Ben Yoram of Militzok & Levy PA in Hollywood, Florida.
