Widower blames medical care providers for wife's death

Medical malpractice 08

CLEARWATER — A personal representative of a deceased patient is suing a medical facility and physicians, alleging medical negligence and wrongful death.

Craig Rieser, the widower and personal representative for the estate of Julie Lynn Cliff, filed a complaint Dec. 21 in Pinellas County Circuit Court against Dr.  Patrick Lee Agdamag, Tampa Bay Emergency Physicians LLC, Carl Suchar, Tarpon Springs Hospital Foundation Inc. et al., alleging the defendants failed to provide reasonable and appropriate medical care and treatment.

According to the complaint, on June 21, 2015, Rieser's wife, Julie Lynn Cliff, was presented to defendants as an immuno suppressed/immuno compromised patient. Rieser says Cliff was negligently treated by the defendants and died due to their failures to recommend required attentive treatments.

As a result, Reiser says he lost his wife's companionship, protection and instruction, and incurred medical and funeral expenses.

Rieser alleges the defendants failed to appropriately respond to findings on X-rays, failed to implement a course of antibiotics and failed to provide appropriate intervention and treatment for an infection.

Rieser seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus costs incurred and attorney fees if applicable. He is represented by attorney Martin W. Palmer of The Palmera Law Firm, PA in Lutz, Florida.
