Pinellas County couple accuses property seller of breach of contract

Contract 04

CLEARWATER — A Pinellas County husband and wife are suing a St. Petersburg property seller, alleging breach of contract.

David Paul Stickney and Lauren Nicole Stickney filed a complaint Dec. 21 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Jose L. Marquez, alleging failure to perform obligations.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 1, 2017 the Stickneys entered into a contract to purchase property from Marquez at 6300 N. 23rd Terrace N., St. Petersburg. The plaintiffs allege Marquez defaulted under the contract by not appearing at the closing of the property in December 2017.

The plaintiffs allege Marquez failed to perform his obligations to close the contract, failed to communicate or provide notice to terminate the contract.

The Stickneys seek trial by jury, damages, court costs, attorney fees and all additional relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Christopher S. Furlong of Bacon, Bacon & Furlong PA in St. Petersburg.
