CLEARWATER — A Lee County man is suing an elevator company, alleging negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Christopher Turco filed a complaint Dec. 20 in Pinellas Circuit Court against Elite Elevator Sales & Service Inc., alleging failure to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 24, 2013, Turco was at Windmore Healthcare of Pinellas Park in Clearwater. The suit says Turco was injured as a result of a fall while he getting into the elevator negligently manufactured and maintained by the defendant.

As a result of the fall, Turco says he sustained bodily injuries resulting in pain and suffering, permanent aggravation of a pre-existing condition, disability, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Elite Elevator Sales & Service failed to warn Turco of the dangerous condition, failed to properly inspect and maintain the elevator, and failed to provide training to their employees regarding the proper maintenance and inspection of the elevator.

Turco seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000 exclusive of court costs and interest, plus all other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by attorney Jonathan Sanclemente of The Pendas Law Firm in Tampa.
