Slip01

ORLANDO — A guest is suing an Orlando hotel, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Lisa Felts filed a complaint Oct. 2 in Orange County Circuit Court against Icon Orlando LLC, alleging the hotel failed to use ordinary care to maintain its premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 7, 2015, Felts was walking along the defendant's premises at 5905 International Drive, when she slipped and fell from a foreign substance that was left on the premises of the Icon Orlando hotel.

The suit says Felts suffered permanent injuries, pain, disability, mental pain, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Icon Orlando failed to utilize a mat or clean the liquid from the floor, and failed to maintain the hotel in a safe manner.

Felts seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of $15,000, plus costs. She is represented by attorney Christopher W. Hewett of The Law Office of Nooney & Roberts in Jacksonville.
