FORT LAUDERDALE — A Broward County couple is suing a Fort Lauderdale engine store, alleging it owes more than $53,000 for breach of implied and express warranties.

Nate Pardue and Molly Bettes filed a complaint Oct. 6 in Broward County Circuit Court against Daddy O's Marine & Engine Parts, Inc., alleging breach of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, on April 1, 2016, Pardue contracted with Daddy O's for the replacement of engines for Wellcraft motor yacht. The suit says the plaintiffs paid $53,383 the amount paid for defective 7.4L Mercruiser engines and associated ancillary parts.

The plaintiffs allege Daddy O's failed to repair the engine in a good and workmanlike manner and failed to perform all conditions to recover damages.

Pardue and Bettes seek trial by jury, judgment for breach of express and implied warranties for $53,383, interest, attorney fees and all other just and proper relief. They are represented by attorney Michael E. Utley of Miami.
