Windermere tenant blames property owners for injuries

Slip01

ORLANDO — A Orange County tenant is suing property owners, alleging their negligence led to injuries.

Sonja Vargas Mendoza of Windermere filed a complaint Sept. 29 in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida Orange County against Reams Road Limited Partnership and AGPM LLC, alleging they failed to maintain their apartment premises in a safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 16, Mendoza was playing tennis at the defendant's property at Buena Vista Place, 8825 Buena Place, Windermere. The suit says Mendoza she slipped and fell due to the seeds that had fallen on the court. As a result, Mednoza says she suffered bodily injury, resulting in pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, incurred medical expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to ensure that the seeds that dropped on their tennis court were promptly removed and failed to warn its tenants and guests of the dangerous condition that existed on the court.

Mendoza seeks trial by jury, damages of more than $15,000, exclusive of interest and cost. She is represented by attorneys Rick L. Martindale and Sarah Hinton of The Martindale Law Group in Orlando.
