Broward County landlord alleges tenant, guarantor owe $72,000

FORT LAUDERDALE — A Broward County landlord is suing a tenant and guarantor, alleging they owe more than $72,000 for breach of a lease and guarantee agreement.

Hillsboro Inlet Plaza Ltd., doing business as Sawgrass Business Center, filed a complaint Sept. 20 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida Broward County against Florida Aviation Repair Services Inc. and James Bevan, alleging they failed to timely pay rent when due pursuant to the terms of their agreement.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 13, Sawgrass Business Center was damaged for the accelerated rent due through the expiration of the contract in the amount of $72,006.21 not paid by the defendants. The plaintiff alleges that despite serving the defendants with a written notice, they have failed and refused to timely pay the rent due of $4,291.01 or to deliver possession of the premises to the plaintiff.

Hillsboro Inlet Plaza  seeks trial by jury, damages of $72,006.21, court costs, reasonable attorney fees and all other relief deemed appropriate. It is represented by attorney Thomas L. Abrams of Gamberg & Abrams in Fort Lauderdale.
