Fort Lauderdale property owner alleges tenant owes more than $250,000

FORT LAUDERDALE — A Fort Lauderdale property owner is suing a tenant, alleging breach of contract and an unpaid debt of more than $259,000.

Ivy Tower 101 Property LLC filed a complaint Sept. 25 in Broward Circuit Court against Grumer & Macaluso PA, alleging the tenant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint,on Sept. 30, 2015, Ivy Tower 101 has suffered economic damages as a result of the wrongful conduct of the defendant. The suit says Grumer & Macaluso defaulted under the lease, with a debt currently amounting to $259,655.26 for accumulated rent and other charges for the property at One E. Broward Blvd., Suite 1501, Fort Lauderdale. 

The plaintiff alleges Grumer & Macaluso vacated and abandoned the premises during the lease term, and refused to pay rental fees and other charges due and owed to the plaintiff.

Ivy Tower 101 seeks trial by jury, damages of $259,655.26, plus interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other relief the court deems proper. It is represented by attorney Jeffrey C. Roth of Roth & Scholl in Coral Gables.
