ORLANDO — A former employee is suing an Orange County company, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Mary D. Marquez filed a complaint Sept. 21 in Orange County Circuit Court against Kings Service Solutions LLC alleging that the Florida company failed to compensate employees for all hours worked.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 16, Marquez entered into an employment agreement with Kings Services wherein she would provide services for the benefit of the defendant, in exchange for proper compensation. However, the suit says, Marquez worked 10 hours of overtime on a weekly basis and was never compensated for her overtime work, up until the termination of her employment June 5.

The plaintiff alleges Kings Service Solutions failed to properly apprise its employees of their rights under the FLSA, and failed to compensate its employees of overtime wages. The suit says Marquez is owed $3,150.

Marquez seeks trial by jury, damages against the defendant, plus attorney fees, court costs, interest and all other relief deemed just and proper. She is represented by attorney Zachary Leacox of McBride, Scicchitano & Leacox PA in Orlando.
