Security First Florida allegedly breached insurance contract

ORLANDO — Two individuals are suing Security First Insurance Company d/b/a Security First Florida for alleged breach of contract.

Dagoberto Rodriguez and Sonia Pinera filed a complaint on Aug. 17 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the insurance carrier breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that their property sustained a damages on Oct. 15, 2015. Although the defendant allegedly assigned the plaintiffs a claim number, the defendants allegedly denied coverage.

The plaintiffs hold the defendant responsible for allegedly obligating them to retain and pay for the services of legal counsel to represent and protect their interests, and for allegedly refusing to pay the full amount of their insurance claim.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant for damages, declaratory relief, attorney's fees and court costs. They are represented by Kenneth R. Duboff of Duboff Law Firm in North Miami.
