Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park, Equity Lifestyle Properties LLC accused of negligence

CLEARWATER — A minor child and her guardians are suing Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park and Equity Lifestyle Properties LLC for alleged negligence.

Articia Walker, Michael Johnson and Jeanne Johnson filed a complaint on Aug. 14 in the Pinellas County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to provide a safe environment for its residents.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Walker, a minor with autism, was staying with her grandparents and co-plaintiffs in their mobile home in April 2016 when she allegedly was attacked by a vicious dog owned by another of the defendants' residents. As a result, the minor child allegedly was seriously injured and scarred, suffered mental anguish, embarrassment and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to keep and maintain the premises in safe conditions, protect its residents and eliminate known dangers on their premises.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in excess of $15,000, plus interest and costs. They are represented by Scott R. Jeeves of Jeeves Law Group in St. Petersburg.
