Insurance 02

ORLANDO — An individual is suing American Security Insurance Company for alleged breach of contract.

Beverly Archer filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the insurer breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her residence suffered damage on Jan. 22 as a result of a storm. However, the defendant allegedly has denied coverage for her claim.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly refusing to pay the full amount of her insurance claim, and for allegedly forcing her to retain and pay for the services of a legal counsel to represent and protect her interests.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, costs and attorney's fees. She is represented by David R. Heil of David R. Heil PA in Winter Park.
