ORLANDO — An individual is suing Safe Harbor Insurance Company for alleged breach of contract.
Maritza Negron filed a complaint on Aug. 3 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the insurance carrier breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her property suffered damages on April 25 due to water discharge in the kitchen. Though the defendant allegedly was given timely notice of the loss and acknowledged coverage, it allegedly rejected the total amount of damages.
The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to honor its contractual obligation and pay for the damages to the plaintiff's insured property.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, plus costs, pre-judgment interest and attorney's fees. She is represented by Jonathan Drake of Strems Law Firm in Coral Gables.
