Home Depot USA Inc. accused of negligence over alleged injury while loading vehicle

FORT LAUDERDALE — An individual is suing Home Depot USA Inc. for alleged negligence.

Hernan Perilla filed a complaint on Aug. 2 in the Broward County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant failed to provide a safe environment for its patrons.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered severe bodily injuries, disability, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses on or about Sept. 25, 2015 as a result of a plank of wood to striking his hand.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to ensure the proper handling and loading of merchandise onto his vehicle, and for allegedly failing to implement a proper mode of operation and policy.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages in excess of $15,000. He is represented by Jose M. Francisco of Jose M. Francisco PA in Miami.
