CLEARWATER — A former employee is suing MK Jones and Associates Inc., Marilyn Jones Gould and Glenn Gould III for alleged unpaid wages.
Shannon Ellis filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in the Pinellas Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to pay her overtime wages.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages for not being paid 1.5 times her regular rate of pay for allegedly working more than 40 hours per week.
The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly apprise their employee of her rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and for allegedly failing to compensate her for overtime work.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for overtime compensation, liquidated damages, interest, attorney's fees, costs, declaratory relief and other relief the court may deem just. She is represented by Wolfgang M. Florin, Christopher D. Gray and Robin M. Orosz of Florin, Gray, Bouzas, Owens LLC in Lutz.
