CLEARWATER — An individual is suing Ron Christopher Co. Inc. and its employee, Joel Farley, for alleged fraud.
Anthony L. Borruso filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in the Pinellas County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants breached their duty of good faith and fair dealing.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from entering an acquisition sales agreement with the defendants. The plaintiff claims that he did not know that the defendants were not brokers, despite the defendants allegedly portraying themselves as brokers.
The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly misrepresenting themselves as a licensed broker, executing an unlawful contract for services and for allegedly forcing him to retain counsel to defend himself against their alleged collection of a broker commission.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for actual, punitive and statutory damages, attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems necessary. He is represented by Heather Cherepkai of Carpenter Gandhi PLLC in Tampa.
