FORT LAUDERDALE — A woman is suing Publix Super Markets Inc. for alleged negligence and liability.
Yelithza Corby filed a complaint on Aug. 1 in the Broward County Circuit Court, alleging that the defenant failed to provide a safe environment for its patrons.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was shopping at defendant's store on Dec. 15, 2016 when she slipped and fell on a wet substance that allegedly had been left on the floor, causing bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, physical impairment, mental anguish, inconvenience and loss of earnings.
The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to maintain the premises, warn her of the dangerous condition and for allegedly failed to properly supervise its employees so as to not endanger its patrons.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages in an amount exceeding $15,000 and costs of action. She is represented by Eric M. Ellsley of Ellsley Sobol PL in Plantation.
