Security First Insurance Company accused of breaching insurance contract

Insurance 06

ORLANDO — An individual is suing Security First Insurance Company for alleged breach of contract.

Lucy Bolivar filed a complaint on July 21 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her property sustained damages on March 1, 2016 as a result of a collapse. Though the plaintiff allegedly furnished timely notice of the damages, the defendant allegedly refused to pay either part or all of the plaintiff's claim.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to acknowledge coverage for the loss, acknowledge that payment would be forthcoming and for allegedly failing to make any payment of insurance benefits.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, court costs and attorney's fees. She is represented by Thomas J. Morgan Jr. of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
