ORLANDO — Parents are suing Bright Horizons Children’s Centers LLC and its employee, Jayrico Hamilton, for alleged battery, negligence, sexual abuse and liability.

The plaintiffs, referred to as Mother Doe 2 and Father Doe 2, filed a complaint on July 18 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to reasonably care for the safety and protection of children.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that their minor child has suffered from trauma, psychological and emotional injuries and the loss of enjoyment of life as a result of allegedly being sexually assaulted by Hamilton while he attended daycare at Bright Horizons.

The plaintiffs hold Bright Horizons responsible for allegedly hiring and retaining an individual that posed harm to children and for allegedly failing to enforce policies to protect the health, safety and welfare of children.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants for compensatory damages, costs and any further relief the court deems appropriate. They are represented by Daniel G. Ellis of Herman Law in Boca Raton.
