ORLANDO — Two individuals are suing Jorge L. Florin MD PA d/b/a Mid-Florida Surgical Associates, Orlando Health Central Inc. d/b/a Health Central Hospital and Dr. Joseph M. Armotrading II for alleged negligence, loss of consortium and vicarious liability.
Beverly Chinetti and Robert Shedd filed a complaint on July 18 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to exercise the standard of care and skill required of medical providers and facilities.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Chinetti suffered from a severe type of bile duct injury on April 18, 2016 as a result of the alleged negligence of the defendant during a surgical procedure and post-operative care. Shedd alleges that he lost the services, comfort, society and attention of Chinetti.
The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to adequately perform surgery, detect injury after the procedure or during follow-up appointments and for allegedly failing to adequately and timely communicate with other health care providers regarding possible injury.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants for all recoverable damages in excess $15,000 plus interest, costs and attorney’s fees. They are represented by Olivia T. Kronenberg of Paul & Perkins PA in Orlando.
